Maria Moratis founded Usable Systems, a user experience strategy practice, in 2001. The practice’s mission is to create engaging, meaningful and intuitive online experiences. The practice has advised clients such as: the Collegeboard, Novartis and Oxygen Media.
With more than 14 years experience developing and getting to market new product concepts, Maria's expertise covers a broad range of industries from financial services to pharmaceutical and consumer products. Her approach is centered on strong partnerships with business and technologies stakeholders to deliver user experiences with high adoption rates. She is a passionate user-advocate that bases development on user validation through iterative design, testing and measurement.
Maria is currently a user experience strategist for J.P. Morgan's Securities Services, identifying how to best deliver digital services to its clients. A graduate of the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University, she is the chair emeritus of the New York chapter of CHI (Computer Human Interaction group: the professional organization for human interaction professionals). Maria also holds a MBA from Columbia University and judges in various new venture competitions such as New York Next Idea.
